What is the biggest change in the advertising industry that you see coming in the next 2 years?
My first thought is 2 years is a long time in the digital world a lot will change as it does in our world. It’s one thing you can count on. Data tracking though is what is on my mind. I am deep into understanding how quickly the ability to know with any level of precision we use to know what was working is going to go backwards. That’s not to say we stop trying, but triangulated data analysis will be a huge asset in the future.
How is the trend towards streaming television (CTV) impacting your advertising strategies?
We love the opportunity to do more of this and see the future. We get stifled when it comes to shelling out the large money needed for video with a lot of Midwest clients. There just isn’t enough money to go around to do everything and what they are doing now works. They just don’t see it yet, but we do! We have clients all over but 70% of our clients are Midwest. It’s coming, just slower than we’d like! CTV is a game changer.
What’s your biggest challenge with attracting and hiring talent in the past 2 years?
Wages, but this is not a unique answer. We very much like to train at our agency, so we look for work ethic first and train up. But if you want highly skilled individuals then it’s hard to compete with large companies shelling out large salaries to work inhouse.
