Working with an outside media buyer brings a balance of internal versus external resources, expertise, capabilities, and perspectives.

The internal marketing director knows the business strategy, organization, goals, and brand inside out.

The outside media buyer brings new opportunities for brand awareness, education, partnerships, growth in market share and access to more channels. They can deliver efficiency on media budgets, and additional cost saving through their relationships with media owners.

What is one tip that you would give when it comes to media planning?

Know your target audience and be prepared to meet them where they are.

How does a media buyer stay on top of trends with media placement?

To stay on top of trends, media buyers need to pay attention and stay on top of changes in advertising, marketing, technology, media channels and platforms.

They should always be diligent in their research, know the client and client’s audience, and be able to consistently deliver on the budget, objectives, and goals for the campaign.
